The Department offers Ph.D. programmes in German, French, Hispanic and Italian Studies. Those interested in getting themselves registered as Research Scholars for the Ph.D. programme of the Department are advised to contact the Office of the Assistant Registrar, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, (Room No. 11), Arts Faculty Building, University of Delhi, Delhi-11007, for details regarding Information Bulletin, registration procedure, application form etc.
The student is required to submit his/her application to the Head of the Department. After proper scrutiny of the requisite qualifications etc., the Head of the Department, in consultation with the members of the Departmental Research Committee, may recommended the application and the name of the Supervisor who will guide the applicant in the research work. On such recommendation, the Board of Research Studies (Humanities) may, if it deems fit, approve the application.
The admission to the Ph.D. course is regulated through the Office of the Chairman, Board of Research Studies (Humanities), Arts Faculty Building, University of Delhi and in every case, the Department has disciplinary and general control over the research student and his work.
