  1. R. V. Kelkar Memorial Lecture  Faculty of Law organized XVIII R. V. Kelkar Memorial Lecture on 20th March, 2006.  Padamshree Professor N. R. Madhava Menon, Director, National Judicial Academy, Bhopal delivered oration on the topic “Rights of Victim and Criminal Justice Reforms”.

 

  1. Student Teacher Delegation from Afghanistan  A student and teacher delegation visited Faculty of Law, University of Delhi on 17th March, 2006.

 

  1. Lecture on ‘Refugee Laws’  Lecture was delivered by Professor Nadira from Pakistan on Refugee Law on 3rd February, 2006 in the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.

 

  1. Legal Awareness Programme  The Faculty of Law have organized  three legal awareness camps,  two in B. R. Ambedkar College on 27th January, 2006 and 10th February, 2006 and Rajdhani College in the month of April/May, 2006.  The project was given to Faculty of law by National Women Commission for six legal awareness camps.  Three more camps will be organized in the month of July, 2006.  See Report

 

  1. Bodh Raj Sawhny Memorial Oration 2005 was organized by Faculty of Law  and Justice Bodh Raj Sawhny Memorial Trust on 14th November, 2005 at the Indian Society of International Law, Delhi.  Dr. Heinz  Goddar, German Patent Attorney and European Patent and Trade Mark  Attorney delivered the memorial oration on the topic “Patents/Public Limits of Patent Protection”.  The other dignitaries present were Hon'ble Dr. Justice A. S. Anand, Chairman, Justice Bodh Raj Sawhny Memorial Trust and Former Chief Justice of India and Chairman, National Human Rights Commission, Hon'ble Mr. Justice A. K. Sikri, Judge, High Court of Delhi, and Professor L. M. Nath, Trustee, Justice Bodh Raj Sawhny Memorial Trust.     See Report

 

  1. International Moot Court Competition Faculty of Law had organized International Moot Court Competition in the memory of Late Madhavrao Scindia (Former Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha) from 11th -13th November 2005.  A team representing the Daekin University from Australia was declared Winner up and team representing Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, India was adjudged runners up.  See Report

 

  1. Orientation Programme for LL.M./M.C.L. students was organized on 24.09.2005 by Faculty of Law.  Hon'ble Mr. Justice C. K. Thakkar, Judge, Supreme Court of India inaugurated the programme.  Other dignitaries present were Hon'ble Mr. Justice A. K. Sikri, Judge, High Court of Delhi and Mr. Daniel S. Towen, Second Secretary, U. S. Embassy and Hon'ble Mr. Justice C.K. Thakkar delivered the oration on the topic “Administrative Law in India”.

 

  1. National Moot Court Competition was organized by Faculty of Law on 13-14 September, 2005 at Indian Law Institute, Delhi which was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice A. R. Lakshmanan, Judge, Supreme Court of India.  The other guests were Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjeev Khanna, Judge, High Court of Delhi and Dr. Abhishek Manusinghvi, Sr. Advocate & Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha).  The team from GGSIP University, Delhi won the Competition.  The runner up team was of NALSAR, Hyderabad.

 

  1. Projects taken by students   The students of Faculty of Law have taken  projects in following areas:

                     i.            Compulsory Registration of Marriages;

                   ii.            Senior Citizen Care & Maintenance Bill.

 

  1. Students of Faculty of Law have worked as interns in National Women Commission, Competition Commission of India, Law Commission of India and other Law firms.

 

  1. Other Activities of Students: Mooters Society of Law Centre-I, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi holds Annual State Level Moot Court Competitions as well as its members participate in local, state, national and international level competitions.
