NOTICE

Election of two subscribers each (GPF and CPF) for membership of the Provident Fund Committees under Statute 28 and Statute 28-A of the Statutes of the University to be elected from amongst those whose names are inscribed in the Electoral rolls published for the purpose of Provident Fund Committee will be held on 10th June, 2014 as per schedule given below:

SCHEDULE

                                                    
1. Last date and time for receipt of nomination Papers in the Registrar’s Office. 26.05.2014 (upto 3:00. p.m.) (Monday)
2. The date and time for scrutiny of the nomination papers in Council Hall. 26.05.2014 (4.00. p.m.) (Monday)
3 Last date and time for withdrawal from the Election. 03.06.2014 (4.00. p.m.) (Tuesday)
4. The date for display of the list of validly nominated candidates in Alphabetical order on the Notice Board. 04.06.2014 (Wednesday)
5. The date and time of Election in the Arts  Faculty Building 10.06.2014 (Tuesday)
(from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)
6. Counting of Votes (if needed)
Venue:- Council Hall
11.06.2014 (Wednesday) at 11:00 a.m.

The election shall be held according to the system of plural distributive vote (i.e. every elector shall be entitled to vote for as many candidates as the number of seats to be filled in.)

The Electoral Roll, as notified earlier, has already been published.

The Registrar shall have the authority to correct the roll by adding, altering or omitting names, if any omissions or wrong entries are brought to his notice at any time but not later than 15 days prior to the date of election i.e. upto 26th May, 2014.

Only those electors whose names are given in the electoral roll shall be entitled to vote at the election.

Notwithstanding anything contained in the Clause 6 & 7 of the rules, if at any time before the election an elector ceases to be in the service of the University, his name shall be struck off from the Electoral Rolls by the Registrar.

Any two electors may nominate any other elector as a candidate by sending or delivering to the Registrar, the nomination paper so as to reach her by 3.00 P.M. of 26th May, 2014. A separate nomination paper is to be used for nomination of each candidate. Nomination paper shall be in the prescribed form and shall be dated and signed by two electors. No person shall be nominated as a candidate for election unless he signifies his consent on the nomination paper. The prescribed nomination paper can be had on all working days from the Election Officer or Section Officer, Council Branch-I, University of Delhi.

A nomination paper which does not comply with requirements shall be rejected. The candidate or his agent duly authorized by him in writing in this behalf shall be entitled to be present at the scrutiny of nomination papers.

Copy of Electoral Roll is available for inspection and consultation with the Section Officer, Council Branch–I, Room No. 212, New Administrative Block, University of Delhi.

The Electoral Roll is also available for information on the website of the University i.e. www.du.ac.in.
