This annual peace prize has been awarded by the International Peace Bureau (IPB) since its centenary year of 1992. The IPB is the oldest international peace organization founded in 1892 in the UK. Sean MacBride, late president of the IPB, was the only recipient of both the Lenin Peace Prize of the former Soviet Union and of the Nobel Peace Prize.
