 DELHI UNIVERSITY  ENTERS AN MOU WITH ICCR

On the day when India is celebrating Swami Vivekananda Jayanti as the National Youth Day,  the Indian Council for Cultural Research running under Ministry of External Affairs entered an MoU with University of Delhi for establishing an ICCR Centre for catering to the needs of the overseas students who come on the ICCR scholarship. Acting Vice Chancellor Prof PC Joshi stated that with such first ever agreement, Delhi University is poised to make a niche in the domain of global higher education.  " This is a big step towards the Government's commitment to make India a hub for international students', Prof Joshi added. As the ICCR brings in students from over 120 countries to India for study, Delhi University has already started benefitting with having received the ICCR sponsored students three times more than before.  ICCR has also pledged to conduct various academic, cultural and extra-curricular programmes to enhance the academic environment and cultural exchange in the University, facilitate the academic exchange for overseas scholars and teachers to supplement a healthy academic growth, and support visiting faculties in the University from overseas academic institutions. It was possible due to the active support of the Acting Vice Chancellor Prof PC Joshi, and Director General, ICCR Shri Dinesh Pattnaik witnessed this Historic moment when Dr Vikas Gupta, Registrar   signed on behalf of the University. Dr Amarjiva Lochan, Foreign Students Adviser, and Dy. Dean, Foreign Admissions of the University facilitated the process
